Question Confused Expert Opinions Needed?

Hi there,

I am confused would appreciate if you could clear the queries.

Which Manifold/sports header should I buy to replace the stock for my Corolla’s 1ZZ-FE……..from PPE or DC……..should it be ceramic coated black…..should I buy complete exhaust too from them like Resonator, Catalytic convertor, Mid pipes, Muffler etc……total cost comes to $1,750/ all black ceramic coated kit……header alone costs $ 650/…..approx estimated increase in WHP & Torque would be 15/7-8 lbs ft of torque…..only header……9-10 WHP/3-4 lbs ft for torque……..or get that from Magnaflow……….approx increase 5-7WHP??

Do I need to install spacers too?

Pros & Cons of each?

Hoping to hear your experienced views,

Regards!

JP Header is a great header for the WHP increase, also the DC sports Header.

PPE is a great set up...but a little pricey for the gains.

Thanks for you’re expressing your views.

Would you care to post the links for JP, DC Headers & PPE setup for 1ZZ-FE?

Regards!

what do you mean by setup? do you want links to other peoples' cars with these parts on them or are you looking for where to get these various parts? I have a JP header on my 1zz right now

I vote, no header, no exhaust, no resonator, and nitrous, lol. More hp, less cash, no obnoxious noise? Win-win no?

JP - http://jpheadersexhaust.com/cgi-bin/...Toyota+Headers

PPE - http://www.ppeengineering.com/produc...x/1zzfesxr.php

DC - http://www.raceinspired.com/p-21666-...iliateid=10065

the links to the JP and PPE are to the manufacturer's website and you can purchase directly from them. the DC header is best gotten from a third party since they're a bit cheaper. JP and PPE can only be gotten from the manufacturer as they are not "mass" produced like the DC ones.

Thanks TrdSpeed140

If it were you which would you pick of the 3.........& would you install Magnaflow Cat back exhaust kit?

HP gains are more with DC vs JP?

Regards!

Jp header with a magnaflow catback. you can go to planet magnaflow .com and make them an offer for 300 bucks, then they will counter offer 350, and you can get it for that price!!

thats the set up you wanna go with. then if you decide to s/c' at a later date you'll be set up!!!

Thanks toomuchnothing. I appreciate all your expert input. You indeed are very knowledgeable & seem to have a great on ground experience.

I shall go the way you suggested JP & Magnaflow.

Regards,

My 05 9th Gen has done only 15K miles.

Do I need to buy a Universal Catalytic Convertor from Magnaflow, along with the Complete Cat Back exhaust system OR would the stock fit in??

Approx gains mentioned by them is RWHP 5 & Torque 4 lbs.

JP header........you all recommend.....I contacted them .......they are asking whether its NA or S/C........dont they have a online dealer?

Its a 05 VVTi 1.8L, M/T.........how do I buy the Manifold?

BTW I got the SMT8-UK Piggyback.

Hoping to hear from you,

Regards,

Based on all the numbers i've seen put down your best option for the most performance would be to get the 1zz PPE Race Header and the 1zz PPE High Flow Midpipe matched up with a magnaflow highflow cat and get the magnaflow catback exhaust which includes a magnaflow resonator and magnaflow axle back muffler.

When I used to own an 05+ 1zz and supercharged I only had the supercharger, SRI, and magnaflow catback and I know there was so much more power to be had if I had only gone with a ppe header and midpipe combo so I say get the entire exhaust done if you get the header and midpipe your local muffler shop will be able to fab up the rest of the exhaust and match it with a magnaflow muffler or your choice for a cheaper price than what I just suggested.

Thanks again OMGlift for your suggestions.

What exactly do I need........ could you care to name them in items#.........& the links.

Like e.g, PPE header, Midpipe, Magnaflow complete system including the Uninversal Catalytic Convertor.

Do keep in mind its N/A & not S/C & done only about 15K miles.

Sorry to be such a pain,

Best Regards,
