My sister's car has a mind of it's own...

Hey everybody,
Okay, so my sister has an '08 Corolla LE, she went out last night & then came back home & her car turned off & everything. Her room mate went outside to get something from the car to find that the car was running...lights, radio & all. The car was locked, so she used the only key that she had to open it & turned off the radio but she said that the lights were on but the lights stalk was on the "OFF" position. My sister put the key in the ignition & turned the key & put it on the "ON" position & the turned it off. Does anybody have any ideas what could be the reason, it doesn't have remote start or anything.

im pretty sure most 9thgens have the day running light feature so that could answer that question, but for the random running part. could be a household prank?
