All those bits run through the integration relay - which is inside the cabin. Kind of unsual for the integration relay to go bad, but it can happen. Not an inexpensive part, with your background, should save a bundle on installation costs.
Another possibility - some of the 2005-2006 model year Corollas have faulty ECMs. Basically it boiled down to poor solder joints / parts placement on the boards inside - they generally manifest as a no-start condition. The car could be running perfectly one minute then suddenly fail the next. There is a TSB on this issue for those affected models.
Could be the engine immobilizer (if equipped) that was causing the intial power draw - but I wouldn't think it could draw 2A, as that is a lot of juice.
The click-click behavior on the starter could be from a poor connection at the starter itself or bad starter contacts. Car is relatively too "new" to have this happen, but given the right conditions - some corrosion in the contacts could have taken place.
