Question New Tires - Suggestions

Hi,

I am driving 2004 Corolla S. Right now I am using BF Goodrich Touring.
I am planning to buy new tires. Can you all suggest me some good brand names and tires under $80?

I am not satisfied with BF Goodrich, because if the road is wet my car is skidding.

Please let me know your valuable suggestions.

Yokohama Avid TRZ and Kumho solus KR 21 will be your best bets at that price. I would lean towards the Kumho Solus KR 21.

If you buy these at a store, they charge for mounting and balancing and tire disposal fee. Dont forget to include that in your pricing.

That link will be a good staring guide to pricing out those tires in your area. I have the KR 21 and I am happy with them.

I Just went through the worst set of tires ever..... GoodYear Integrity.... There is a lighter side though,The best tires Ive had yet are The General Altimax HP 195/65/15.Awesome tread design,55,000 mile tread life and scored very high at Tirerack.com, Have Alot Of New Technology as well,They Only Cost me $62 a piece shipped to my tire dealer Plus installation. You should seriously consider them. The Car Handles way better than new in wet...snow or dry conditions.I am very happy with them.

I've had very good luck with the Yokohama Avid TRZ. A wee bit of other advice: If you were to do a search on this topic, you'd get a ton of hits - this question has been asked many times in the past.

Ive Had BFG's Yokohama's,Goodyear's (BFG Being best of the bunch) And I have to say I am Most Impressed With the General's I just Bought,Awesome Technology Has been Put Into these tires and they are less expensive than any of the others.

The AltiMAX HP features a Twin Cushion Tread (TCT) compound that places a high-density silica-enhanced, all-season top compound above a low-density foundation compound to combine year-round traction, long wear and a comfortable ride. A directional tread design features sweeping, high-angle tread grooves sized using sound wave suppression technology to combine hydroplaning resistance with reduced pattern noise. Visual Alignment Indicators (VAI) molded into the shoulder blocks permit pinpointing tire wear irregularities early in the tire's life so vehicle adjustments/mechanical corrections can be made to take full advantage of wear potential. The tire's internal structure includes two steel belts reinforced by spirally wound nylon to stabilize the tread area for good handling, while a polyester cord body enhances ride quality
