I was a car-just-for-riding guy who at some point became a car guy. So far I got some sick wheels and tires plus a stainless steel double mufler I want K&N quality but I cannot find an intake for her with the part that insulates the filter from the heat from the engine. It has only the tube and the filter.
What do you recommend to lower it? The mechanic says i need a Koni or KYB Adjustable kit. and your savy advice. Can you tell me which one?
Thanks a bunch!
as far as lowering, what you'll need depends on how low you want to go. you can get just lowering springs and not necessarily need new shocks like your mechanic thinks. i think if you want to go lower than 2 inches or so then you'll need some coilovers.
As for the intake, if you get a cold air intake then you don't need that thing that insulates the filter from the engine heat since the filter on CAI for our car is located behind the bumper cover/inside the fender well cover.

I really don't need to go too low, or lower than 2 inches! I suppose the springs are a cheaper option. I What kind or brand of springs do you recommend?
for just 2 inches, Megan Racing or H&R Race springs. those'll give a fairly good performance gain but if you want a soft, like-stock ride then you may want to look into TEIN's H-tech or S-tech springs for our cars.

not really sure how they compare to TEINs, i've never ridden in a car, any car, with them. I do really like my Eibachs though, it's not a very big drop, they say it's only about 1 inch or so, but it definitely looks better than stock and rides better than stock (performance-wise). I won't really be able to test the springs to their true potential though until I get good summer tires since I lose traction too easily when trying to go through a hard, tight turn.

I am also thinking to get some springs, but the area I am in can't be lower too much since having snow and crap. here some pricing I found, or any good people find other place can beat this price?

i dont know what shipping would be to Canada, but Tirerack has better prices for the H&R springs and Megan racing's own site has better prices for their springs i think too.

Both Tein and Eibach are reputable companies. As someone who spends money rather frugally, I would buy their products before most others. Their J-Body (cavalier and Sunfire) products have proven themselves time and time again on many cars that I've seen.
Hey Bro......ken.....!
I bought the Eibach pro-kit!
What do y'all think of Zmax for the Corolla? I just used it and it did some good.
Did y'all buy the bars and the litlle alignment pieces too?
What other parts do y'all recommend for performance with a frugal budget? Like with the springs, it saved me some serious bucks, plus it's perfect for what I envisioned, not too low!
What are some options for wing or spoiler you like?

Strut bar is a great cheap upgrade. I'm ordering one soon, I just need fog lights first (NEED for winter. We always get a near white out condition once a year while I'm at work.)
