Canada 07 Corolla - keep or not...

I have an 07 Corolla CE SE with 93000 km on it. I have had no major problems with it other than the computer being replaced after the check engine light came on. My lease is up in October. I am leaning toward keeping the car so I am wondering how other owners have made out with their 07s with over 100000 km on them..

I have about the same "miles" on mine and plan on keeping it for years! That's the main reason I bought it. Car payments are the devil. Live with out them as long as you can. If you buy it back, I hope you work a good deal.

Toyota Incentives to End Lease Early

You might want to check with your local Toyota dealer. I just purchased a '06 lease return (on Friday) and the salesman told me Toyota Canada is paying lease customers to end their lease early - the one I got would have been due to end in July.

An incentive + 0% financing could be very attractive for you. It's a scheme to boost new car sales.

Sorry if this has been posted elsewhere.

I have an 06 with 89K miles on it which is, what 148K km? The clutch is escellent, the engine oil is still the original color after 4000 miles. Mileage is in the mid 30s and it's paid for. I'm keeping mine as long as I can. Just plain silly to dump it because it's finally broken in.

I agree with what CharleyM3 said. I have an 05 with 58,000 miles or about 95,000km and the sucker is barely broken in. The only big expense for me has been to buy new tires. Keep it until it falls apart.

I'm about at the same decision point as you with my 07 LE (only 58000 km though). It's really a great car in every respect - fuel efficient, reliable, comfortable, has all the bells & whistles I need . . . it's just an extremely practical car.

If yours is running well now, it probably will continue to do so for years to come.

The only reason in my mind to trade it for something else is if you *need* something newer/fancier/less practical, like my coworker who keeps trading his cars in every year. That's one expensive *need* though!

Let us know what you decide

Thanks for the information everyone. The lease end incentive + the 0% financing are very tempting, which is why I even considered not keeping it. However, no car payments looks even better to me, especialy considering I have had no real problems with the car (94000 km on it now). The only "real" problem is with paint chipping off, but that's pretty standard on all vehicles these days.. Bottom line, I'm 99% sure I'm keeping it..
