It will change the sound of the car, but it doesn't really do much in terms of adding performance.

Leave it stock if you want the best mileage.

you can not have something that gives you both better performance and better mileage, anything that advertises as doing so is probably a scam. there is always a trade-off; if you want more power you'll need to sacrifice a bit of mpg, and vice-versa. I think you should start off with an intake, imo.
