hmm, i think that's sorta a tough choice, on the one hand, the 215/35's will effectively lower the overall height of the car but make your speedometer off by about 2 mph but the 225/40's will fill the wheel well gap more and probably make that gap look a little better and it keeps your speedo closer to actual vehicle speed, plus they're a bit wider which is good.
the rims will be pushed out a little over a centimeter more than stock (stock for me anyways with my stock 17"x7.5 TC wheels), but the back wheels are more than likely not going to be flush, you may want to look into some spacers, maybe a couple 5 or 10mm ones
