$909.00 fuel pump?

Why is a pump that much for a Corrolla XRS? I know their is a service bullatin for the old pump itself. The dealer tells me this is a new beefy model they just put in. Why so much?
Not happy about this and after market pumps wouldn't fit to fray the cost.
This is my first toyota and maybe my last. Thought rollas were cost effective to run. My bad

how many miles you got? still under warranty? warranty should have covered that since there was the TSB for it, mine was.

I have 76900 miles on it. They told me at the dealer that it was warrentied for up to 65K. I did not buy the extended warrenty but it is a certified used auto with the power train coverage for 100K.
When I bought the car they had to replace the gas tank. (cracked hose).
2 weeks ago, the computor died while driving on the highway. ( toyota had to pay for that) I get it back and the pump was loud and drove it 5 days before the pump went. Sound strange to me, but I think they messed something up and im holding the bag.

Toyota Corperate didn't want to hear me out, the dealer owner hung up on me. I tired of watching toyota commercials saying they stand by their products.

The older Corollas are the the economical ones, not necessarily the newer ones, owning to Toyota's lapse in quality. Toyota probably wants to distance itself from the recalled models and start fresh with the 2010 and later ones.
