2006 Corolla S-accelerator not responsive

My daughter was driving down a hill yesterday and her accelerator was not responding. She said the car did not stall, but did notice that the check engine light was now on. She pulled over and shut the car off and restarted it. It started right up. She continued on her way and called again about an hour later and said the check engine light went off. Has anyone experienced this scenario? Thank you.

I took the car to Auto Zone yesterday and they pulled the code for me. It is a service that they provide for no cost. The dealer wanted to charge me $94.00. The displayed code was P0607. They gave me the printout and I took it to the dealer. I have a Monday appointment to have the ECM replaced. Since the car has 79539 miles on it , the work will be covered by warranty. Thanks for responding to my problem.
