Switching coolant types

Can I switch over to the 05+ radiator coolant to reduce the intervals between flushes? 05+ is red where 03-04 is pink correct? thx
Got a couple thousand miles to go until I do oil, coolant, trans fluid/filter.

Sure can.

Just make sure you do a thorough flush to remove all the old coolant before switching over.

Pink is the new formula and red is the old formula. The pink coolant can only be purchased as a 50/50 diluted coolant -- it's half deionized water. The red coolant can only be purchased undiluted.

I have no idea how you are going to get the pink stuff up to 50/50 though since you can't drain all the water out of your cooling system.

You could probably use something like Peak Global if you want to extend the interval.

Would I be better off purchasing the radiator coolant from the dealership and then taking it to a shop to have it flushed with a pressurized system?
