03 Corolla LE power lock issue

Hi all,

I've searched already but couldnt really find anyone with the similar problem as mine.

Starting few months ago, my driver side rear door wouldnt lock/unlock with both factory remote and the power switch. I couldnt even manually lock/unlock the botton (It wouldnt move at all as if it is stock!). Then starting few weeks ago, my driver side started acting up. With both remote/power switch, it would sometimes take a few tries before it would lock/unlock

I already checked the child safety and have not done any wiring. It is bone stock. Could someone please help me fix this thing..

Thanks in advance

My car has about 60K miles and both remote/car batteries have never been replaced. But the car starts fine and I dont have any other issues.

Also, when I press the unlock/lock via remote or power switch, I dont hear anything from the driver side rear door as if no power is delivering. (This is the door with stuck lock button)

My Bad.. Just browsed over your post quickly.. Since it's happening on both doors, I'd say its an electrical problem. (Stuck in the locked position) If it was something jaming the lock funtion it wouldn't have happend to both doors. (That or you've got great odds, go buy a lottery ticket).. Don't worry your not alone, it's happening to others

Yeah this is really getting annoying.

Drive rear door - lock botton is stuck and I can't even get it lock or unlock manually. And no electrical/mechanical sound AT ALL when using the switch

Drive door/Passenger door (It started happening too) - Takes multiple attempts to lock/unlock vise versa. But I do hear both electrical/mechanical sound..just nothing happens

Weird problem. I've been reading about it and many people with similar issues have reported possible integration relay or the locking actuator

This is the reponse I got from the ASE certified Toyota mechanic

"If the rear door will not move mechanically then the lock actuator is jammed/bad and needs to be replaced before this door jams locked and cannot be opened. Get this fixed first and retest the car, it can be sending false signals and messing with the front 2 doors due to lock detection position"

Then I asked him if there was a way to test the actuator in order to verify that it is indeed the faulty actuator and he said

"You can test the wiring for power and ground at the actuator but based on your comments the lock assembly is mechanically jammed which caused this" after I told him that I didnt hear any electrical/mechanical sound delivering from the rear passenger door.
