2005 Corolla on 3rd Computer/ECM - Toyota Nation Forum : Toyota Car and Truck Forums

My 2005 corolla had the computer replaced at 50k (under warranty) and recently at 85k ($700). The recent replacment occured after the car died in an intersection (code P0607). Does anyone know if this is a common problem with this generation of Corollas? I'm really hoping I don't have to replace it again.

It is somewhat common, especially on the 06 corollas. A bad soldering job is to blame in Delphi made ECUs. Mainly corollas made in the CA plant are affected, but not all. But there was an updated part number. Hopefully you were not given old (bad) ECUs when you went in for warranty work. You didn't add LED taillights did you?
