2004 S has intermittent wipers, but I want VARIABLE int. wipers!
I just got a 2004 S. I saw that it had intermittent wipers and thought "good" but didn't realize until it rained that they aren't variable! I couldn't believe it.
So I've done some searches and it seems you can update the 2008 Corolla with a part that also fits in the Matrix and the Pontiac Vibe, and I'm wondering if there's anything out there that will fit in the 2004 Corolla. Did the 2004 CE or LE have variable intermittent wipers, and is there somewhere I can purchase that module?
LE came with variable wipers. The best bet will be to go to a junk yard or shop around on ebay and buy the wiper stalk from an 2003-2008 LE. It is plug and play. Remove the 3 screws around the steering wheel, pop some tabs remove the old stalk and install the new one, takes about 10 minutes. It costs $135 from the stealership.

Go here https://www.pamsauto.com/ and find an LE and have them send you the part from a wrecked vehicle.
The part was "Column Switch : COROLLA 03-08 w/o fog lamp; w/intermittent wiper-Column Switch : COROLLA 03-08 w/o fog lamp; w/intermittent wiper" at $59.99 and $15.71 shipping. You get the headlight controller too. I threw that out.
However, $175 is pretty steep, so I'm glad you pointed me to pamsauto, what a great site! $65 shipped for variable wipers, yee haw. Here's the beauty she's coming from: http://pamsauto.com/c-173-view-vehic....aspx?sn=K1224 lol
Thanks again, both of you. That variable control is something I won't take for granted again.

Well, welcome (almost) back! I've been here since 2002 - the Air Force sent us here, I retired in 2005 and stayed. We're up in Rio Rancho, but I work in ABQ. I've seen a few other locals on TN from time to time. For me, George is my first name - hope the days pass quick for you.
