Headers?

Hey, Im just curious if anyone could recommend some good exhaust headers for my '06 Toyota Corolla LE? I've been looking at an OBX header, but it seems that my up stream oxygen sensor is located in my manifold and the OBX header doesn't have a hole for the oxygen sensor . Any advice would be awesome =]

save yourself the headache and avoid the obx junk... there is a reason why that header is so cheap and shitty.

Like stated above look into PPE or JP for a nice quality header for your Corolla

Thanks for the replys. My only concern is, in the pictures, i dont see a spot for the up stream oxygen sensor. does the sensor get moved, or is the picture just not correct?

The OBX doens't have a O2 Sensor bung. One would have to be welded in (Muffler shops can do it).
You get what you pay for...

Just Questions

OBX Racing Sports, you either love them or hate them. My personal experiences with OBX header turn out “VERY GOOD”. I had a set on my old 95 Honda Civic EX w/ no problems.

gearhead526
A few questions:

1.) Is your Corolla paid off, yet?
2.) Is your name under the title?
3.) Are you paying the insurance?
4.) Do you need to pass the local emission?
5.) Is the Header for “bling” or “performance”?

The last thing you want to do is srew-up your mom & dad’s Corolla

If you get a Bung welded in for your O2 sensor, you won't have a problem passing emissions.

My 2 cents... If you wanted to do this mod.

Lets take a cheap off E-bay, OBX for example.

Cheap header, with no O2 sensor bung. Flows better than stock.

A good exhaust shop should be able to weld in a Bung. (Close to wear the stock one went. Double check location & O2 to firewall clearance)

Use a new O2 sensor. Leave your old one in the OEM manifold, there usually in there good, as well as new header, why would you use an old O2 ? I'd go go for the stock style O2, clips into the wiring harness. (saves cutting & splicing wires, especially if you want to go back to stock)

Heat wrap the header for best results. (Cuts down on underhood temps)

Should read as normal as stock manifold if your car is running correctly.

Thanks so much for the input. the headers would be for performance, and yes its paid off. and i didn't even think about the muffler shop welding a bung in. but i've heard of it being done pretty often. as far as the PPE headers sound, they sound liek the option i'd rather go, i just dont have an extra 500 dollars just chillen around >.<

obx are the best headers & exhaust on the market for the price, period, i have them on both my solara's, never an issue, the quality is as good as those priced twice as much, just have a bung welded on, dont listen to the haters, they havent a clue, buy'em you'll be a happy camper........

Research a bit more….putting performance header on your corolla w/ a stock mid-pipe & muffler won’t do much. Just picture this…..try blowing air out of a slurpee straw into a coffee straw. That is what your exhaust will be like….. plus I WOULD STRONGLY recommend that you avoid hacking, cutting, wielding into the stock exhaust. Because your stock exhaust very expensive to replace. Do it right the first time…..continue researching

This is my cheap eBay set-up (it’s still require a custom job):
OBX HEADER EXHAUST MANIFOLD 03-08 TOYOTA MATRIX XR 1ZZ w/ N1 CATBACK MUFFLER EXHAUST 03-08 TOYOTA COROLLA

just have a test pipe made so you can bolt your cat on when its time to smog, i run catless, until smog time, i just bolt it on, no problems with smog, you should buy the whole obx exhaust.............
