stuck in park / locks stuck

i think i got a short somewhere or a blown fuse... but where and how?

i parked my car from coming home last night and get up the next morning and start my car. cant get it into gear and notice a bunch of my electronic components are dead. only electronic aftermarket part i have on the car is a arlarm system. its tapped into a couple of power sources and lights. also had to install actuators for all 4 doors. its been working for 4 years though.

my car is a 2004 corolla ce. automatic transmission. manual door locks.

-car starts up fine.

-car is stuck in "park". searched online and found out about the override lock button for the shifter. was able to put the car into drive and get it into the garage.

-manual door locks are all stuck on the "unlock" position. i was able to press them all into the "lock" position but they were very hard to press. the 2 rear doors lock but the 2 front doors will still open even in the lock position. i dont think the locks are controlled electronically but just in case i unhooked the battery and tried to lock the doors and they are still hard to lock.

-radio doesnt turn on. all gauge needles dont work. clock doesnt work.

-all interior lights, headlights, taillights, light up when the light switch is turned "on". havent checked to see is brake light works yet.

-i checked all fuses that were visible and they are all fine. im not sure if the enclose fuses/relays are working or not because they dont have a indicator. this is from the fuse box under the hood on the driver side. is there any other locations for fuses?

***that all the info i can think of right now. please throw out any ideas you have that i can check. ive search and found nothing. now i post and wait. while im waiting im gonna go check the wiring for the alarm and make sure there isnt a short due to the wires rubbing.

update.

rechecked all the fuse. even swapped them out from other cars. all still good.

did the same thing with all the relays. swapped them out from other cars. made sure they were the same model #, volts, etc. still nothing.

so if everything in the fuse box is okay... then that must be i somehow by passed all the fuses and burnt out the electrical units themselves???

which means i need to buy:
-new brake pedal sensor and gear shift lever unit.
-new dash unit
-a/c control unit
-sterio unit
-x4 door lock units
-and whatever else is dead...

but i dont know how this couldve happened. the alarm unit runs on x2 different fuses for 2 different power sources. and both those fuses didnt blow either.

some please help me out with this. any ideas would help. i dont wanna end up buying all those things.

*further inspection of the door locks and it turns out all the electronic units themselves seem to have burnt out. the door locks are mechanical so there is nothing electronical involved. what was making the locks hard the use were the actuators hooked up to the lock cables. the actuators were burnt and locked up. after undoing the hookes from the actuators to the door lock the lock switches worked like how they should. if this burnt out im assuming everything else that isnt working is also burnt out.
i wonder why the 10amp fuse didnt blow to stop the flow of electricity... /sigh.

i just hope the wiring harness isnt burnt...

FOUND IT!!!

took me all day searching online and the car.

there is a 2nd fuse box. its located under the steering wheel. but it has a black cover over it so you can really tell what it is. i was able to remove the little cubbing under the power mirrior switch and from there you can see the side of the fuse box and the fuses.

go under the steering wheel and pull the locking clip on the side facing the passenger side and the cover pops off.

i checked all the fuses there and found JUST 1 fuse blown. a 25amp fuse labeled "AM1". pulled a fuse from another car to test it and wallah! everything is back to normal.

im leaving the alarm system out because that seemed to be the cause of all this trouble. seeing how the door lock actuators burnt out.
