are the xrs and regular corolla engines interchangeable?

alright guys i need your help on this one. ive got a 2005 corolla xrs. 6 speed, 140k. 2ZZ-GE motor. its got a bad bottom end. i have found a block from a regular corolla le, the 1ZZ-FE motor. are the blocks interchangeable? will the le motor just bolt right up to the xrs head, and transmission? anything else i should know? how about the power output. help is apperciated.

The heads are not interchangeable.

Try looking for a Matrix Xrs and Celica GTS as they came with the 2zz engine.

It won't work because the oil passages are not compatible.

previous owner ran the car with no oil, the bottom end is now toast. im just gonna try to pick up a low milage motor
