Angry Fuel filler door wont open

Hi guys!

Here's my issue... The fuel filler door wont open, you know, the one you open by pulling a lever next the driver seat.... I don't know what to do and I'm running out of fuel...

I went trough all the forum but found nothing bout this...

Oh almost forgot something, my car it's no US made or Japan made... I'm from Venezuela and don't know if the mechanism it's different. It's a Toyota Corolla 2004

Anyone knows something?

Thanks

Try pulling back the insulation from inside the trunk and see if there is an emergency fuel door release.

try keeping the lever up while you try and pry it open a screwdriver, might work.

Is there any resistance when you pull the lever? Check to see if the cable moves or is attached.

Thumbs up solved

Hey guys! sorry to keep you wating...

dorman68 This model doesn't have an emergency fuel filler door opener, so if you try pulling the cable reaching it from the trunk the only way to open the fuel filler door it's by extracting the safe... This obviusly it's not the solution cuz you have to put it back when you're done filling the tank and extracting it when you want to fill it, so but thanks anyways for this one cuz i got to fill my tank hahahaha

TrdSpeed140 the screwdriver it's not the solution... You will mess the door and paint.

mikered30 Yes there is a resistance when you pull the lever but it's only because at the end of it there is a spring that put the lever back to it's original position.

Later, I got home so I took my time...
  • Unmount the drivers seat,
  • Then you have to take some carpet away from the levers in order to reach the cable that are under the carpet by the levers,
  • Extract/Unmount the levers and you will see the end of the cable,
  • There's a hole where this end fix (Next to the springs), put it back on the hole
  • revert the process

You're done...

Thanks for the anwsers
