I have a used 05, now it's almost the end of Sep., and I haven't received any thing from the dealer.

Should I just go ahead and bring it to the dealer? Are they going to charge me?

Thanks!

I have had the stalling issue with my XRS a few times in the last 6 years (coasting and slowing down in neutral up to a stop light).

That means, 2ZZ must have been recalled as well.

Call them first. I'm in the same boat, and I called a dealer this morning. They said they won't do anything without a letter.

The notices probably won't be sent out until November 2010. The ECM recall only affects certain 2005 thorugh 2008 models, with the 1ZZ-FE engine and with two wheel drive.

If you check your Corolla 2005-2008 VIN number with Toyota online link above you will see something like this if your car is affected:
Quote:
Safety Recall A0J - Engine Control Module (ECM) for Certain 2005 through 2008 Toyota Corolla and Corolla Matrix Models Equipped with a 1ZZ-FE Engine and Two Wheel Drive
Code: A1J
Memo
Toyota is currently preparing replacement parts. We anticipate that preparations will be completed in November, 2010.

What is the Condition? The Engine Control Module (ECM) for certain 2005 through 2008 Toyota Corolla and Corolla Matrix models equipped with the 1ZZ-FE engine and two-wheel drive may have been improperly manufactured. There is a possibility that a crack may develop at certain solder points or on varistors on the circuit board. In most cases, if a crack occurs at certain points or on certain varistors, the engine warning lamp could be illuminated, harsh shifting could result, or the engine may not start. In limited instances, if cracking occurs on particular solder points or varistors, the engine could stop while the vehicle is being driven increasing the risk of a crash.
