06 Corolla cd swap for 09?

I want to upgrade this deck to include mp3 functions. Is it possible to simply switch the Corolla 09 system into a Corolla 2006 or am I better off trying to find a new mount? Thank you in advance for your advise!

Why would you want OEM? I think you can get a cheaper AND better mp3 capable 3rd party head unit. One good place to shop is crutchfield.com. Their tech support is superb, they know what they are talking about. They can also give you sound advice on what to buy. (I'm not affiliated with them, I just bought a stereo for my other car, and I had overwhelmingly positive experience.)
