I am about to flush out my coolant. I dont think it has been done before 141k miles on it........the coolant is red........I did a search and got the idea of it just looking for any recent feedback..........are people buying the Toyota red coolant or using something else? I have the original hoses to when are people changing them out?

On all my Toyotas, I like to stick to OEM coolants. They did switch to the super long life "pink" stuff close to your model year (started in 2005 ??), to replace the older long life Toyota Red Coolant. Though being a GM vehicle, possibly it has the DexCool stuff, it should say on the radiator cap and in the owner's manual. The two are not interchangeable / cannot be mixed. If you are unsure what you have in there, have to flush all of it out with distilled water and then refill with fresh coolant.
Major differences were the Red coolant's rated life was 3yrs/30K miles, the new Pink coolant's life is rated 8yrs/100K miles. Red is typically sold as 100% coolant in the 1 gallon jugs. Pink stuff is premixed at 55/45 ratio in gallon jugs. Both are silicate free, phosphate free, EG based coolants, uses borate to buffer the pH of the coolant, both use a hybrid OAT tech for longer life, pink stuff just uses a longer life version of it.
As for the hoses, hard to say. Especially if you believe the coolant has not been changed for 141K miles. A hose can still look decent from the outside, but be completely deteriorated on the inside. Even squeezing the hose may be tough to tell. If in doubt, replace it - cheaper to do that than have to pay for a tow back home, get stranded somewhere.
change it wit oem coolant don't do any after-market stuff. you cant mix coolants and the oem coolant is made so it doesn't eat away the head gasket or the metals in the engine. and for changing the hoses if there is any bulging in the hose or cracks replace it. make sure u drain the block too
