Thumbs up NEW Computer

My cel came on. I went to autozone, they scanned it, emissions related code...i forget what it was now 456 or something like that. So, i went to dealership, told them the problem and mentioned the recall for the ecm. They checked out the car and diagnosed it for free. The CEL was a bad gas cap and I replaced it with a Genuine Toyota part since the O'reiley part only was good for 6 months!. ....No more CEL anymore. They ordered me an ECM and within 3 business days they had it and installed it right away. No charge for any diagnostic 1st visit and install was fast, I was in and out within an hour ...and they were swamped with cars to work on!!!

Lucky you! My dealership won't look at my car without a letter from Mother Toyota. Mother Toyota promised me a letter by the end of November. Still waiting...

I was supposed to wait for a letter also. My check engine light came on and they checked into it and replaced it ASAP...........You could always leave your gas cap partially on, creating a CEL to come on then go to the dealership to get it replaced sooner??

I got a phone call from my dealer, saying to bring it in. Well, I live an hour away from them, so I called to make sure they would have one. He couldn't tell from the VIN, but there was a "good chance" that they would have the right one.

So I went down there on Monday. The guy took it in right away and said it would be about an hour. So in about an hour and 45 minutes a nice young woman says "Mr. Jones" and I'm thinking they are done. Nope. She's just letting me know that they have ordered the part, and "just come by tomorrow".

WTF? It took more than an hour and a half to find out that they don't have it?
