Corolla 2003 cablin light switch & Lighter port

Guys,

I am not sure whether corolla have a light on the switch of cabin bulb switch (Which is rotating on the left side of the driver seat). Actually, mine is not working (If it should be there). Please confirm if the light should have to be there or not.

Second, Could you please tell me what could be the problem if there is no power in my cigarette lighter port. What should I have to check to confirm this?

Your reply will be appreciated.

Are you asking if the rotating dial should fade in and fade out the cabin light??

No, the thing is when there is complete dark in the cabin (In the night) then I cant see this rotating button and there is no back light in it like we have back light in all the other instruents.
So, do you think the back light should be there or not, originally.

Second question is, there is no power in my Cigarette lighter socket. How can I check that, if the fuse is blown up or any other problem in it.

The fuse for the cigarette lighter/power outlet is No. 28, 15 amp in the underdash fuse box. That fuse also controls the audio system and clock, so if those items are working and the power outlet is not working, the problem is likely the outlet rather than the fuse.

Good luck.

I hate to thread jack but does this fuse control the 12v source in the center console compartment as well? Just found out mines not working but the one above the shifter is working (HORRIBLE placement IMHO)

No, the power outlet in the back of the console box has a separate 15amp fuse in the underdash fusebox. It's no. 26, and labeled P/Point
