Low oil pressure turns on only in ON state. goes away when I start (ignite) the car.

I have 2008 Toyota Corrola.
Warning light for low oil pressure, battery check light and an another yellow CHECK lights get turned on only when the car is turned ON. Once I start the car i.e. I rotate the key to Start position which ignites and starts the car, it goes away! In this state, that I am driving the car, I do not see these lights - however MAIN REQD light has been on my vehicle for last few miles - (my car is NOT due for oil change for next 3.5K miles).

Since I have heard, low oil pressure is a dangerous signal - I wonder if this is really what is happening with my car - or this is normal with all the cars to turn on these lights in key ON position. Do these warning lights turn on normally when the car is on ON state? Or is this something I should be seeking prefessional help? my car is a certified car and has only 24.5 k on it.
Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

Those lights are always on when you have your key on the on position. It is a self check and normal. The problem occurs when they stay on after the car is started.

Those lights are supposed to turn on when you turn the ignition to the on position. It's just the car letting you know that the lights actually work.

Thank you Mikered and Gonz for your quick response... But my MAIN REQD (yellow) light is on even when I am driving? My oil change is not due for change for next 3.5 k. I bought this certified car just a couple of months back. Could it be that mechanic didnt reset this when he changed the oil last time? What should be my course of action for this? Could it might have anything to do with other warning signals that popup, which you said are normal, when you turn the key to ON position.

Thanks again guys.

The last mechanic did not reset the light.

Turn ignition key to 'ON' and press the odometer button until the display reads actual mileage... not Trip A or B.

Turn ignition key to OFF.

Hold in the odometer button

While holding the button in, turn ignition key to 'ON'.

The 'Maint Reqd' light should blink and go out.
