Canada Going in for Ontario Emissions Test

I have a 2004 Corolla with 180 , 000 kms.

I just change the oil (Synthetic) and did a drain and fill on the tranny fluid.

My plugs were change at about 130, 000. If I did change plus what would someone recommend? Keep in mind I'm located in Canada.

Apart from the above is there anything else you might recommend.

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Do you think you will have a hard time passing or did you barely pass last time?

Plugs are probably fine as long as they were iridum plugs installed last time. If you think you need to change them, go with NGK or Denso iridium. May want to clean the throttle body and IAC valve. This guide can help you clean them and you do not have to remove the TB or IACV from the car. Just spray the TB and the little port in the TB.

The best advice before doing an emission test appointment is to drive the car at least 30 minutes (fairly hard) right before you go in.

Just don't go to Canadian Tire. They do a brisk business failing vehicles in

the emissions test and then informing you that hundreds of dollars in

repairs are needed.

Is that even possible? Purposely failing e-tests? I don't know about this.

In theory there is a possibility but in practice I don't see how it's even possible.

The test has to be run in accordance with specific guidelines and procedures.
