06 Corolla: Question about ECM recall

We bought our Corolla brand new in July of 06. Either late 06 or early 07, I can't remember, the check engine light came on. We took it to the stealership because it was still under warranty and they replaced the ECM because they said something was wrong with it. At the time, I think they tried replacing whatever the computer was saying was not working, which leads me to believe they didn't know anything about the bad batch of computers back then. Anyways, I recently got the letter from Toyota saying the computer might need to be replaced under warranty.
My question is: Are all of the computers under the certain years bad or only certain ones, depending on the VIN number? The reason I ask is because I took it to the stealership 2 days ago to have them check it out and they said the computer is fine. If 08s were part of the recall and they replaced the ECM in the car back in 07, then it could mean they just replaced a bad ECM with another one. They did take the car and look at the computer, so I'm assuming they pulled a number off the ECM to see if it was part of the recall list.

Call a different dealer and give them your VIN and see what they say. Even the ECUs replaced earlier still had problems, and may not have been given the updated parts. If you grab a camera and take a pic of the part sticker, (Ecu is under the glove box) check out this link, post 12: Voluntary Recall on 05-08 Corolla/Matrix (ECM related)

Enter your VIN here: http://www.toyota.com/owners/SSCInfo...call_vinlookup

Thank you for the information. I was wondering if there was a part number on the ECU that was replaced that I could check to see if it is part of the recall or not. I will give it a shot.
