When I put my car into drive nothing happends...it's like it's in neutral. Could it be the transmission or before I get it checked out by a service guy is there anything I can check myself....like pins or connectors?

Also how much do you thing a new transmission would cost if it needs to be replaced?

Did you check the transmission fluid level?

Did you recently change your motor oil? I would check your tranny fluid level. What about the other gears? How many miles? Any issues like this before?

The light is not on.
The car has 110,000mi.
I have not had a problem before (this is kinda of sudden).
The oil was changed about 2,000mi ago.
I have not looked into the fluid level yet though.
