tires for 2004 Corolla

I need new tires and live in the Rocky Mountains, so good handling on snow would be nice.

What size, speed rating, brand, etc. should I be looking for?

What is your price range? I assume you want all seasons and not dedicated snow tires?

My preferred price range would be that I can get a whole new set of four for less than $400. And, yes, no dedicated snow tires.

Some of my suby buddies in NY who don't run dedicated winter tires run on continental ContiExtremeContact and they get pretty good reviews for rain and snow.

One thing to mention, how one drives in the snow is just as important or if not more as the tires they are riding on.

Experience far out weighs tire choice.

At that price range and being ok in snow, the Hankook Optimo H727 would probably be your best bet, keeping in mind all seasons are ok overall, not great, and all have shortcomings. Certain tires are great in the summer and in the rain, but suck badly in the snow or wear fast. The 727s actually do quite well for an all season tire in the snow and I would imagine that is pretty important where you live. I have them and enjoy them. If you have the dough for snow tires, blizzak all the way.
