Question about aftermarket wheels

The stock size for my 2007 corolla is 195/65-15. I am looking to replace these with a 17". The size that I am looking at is 215/45/17. I know that these wheels are abou .3" shorter than stock. The offset is just listed as HPO. Is there a way to determine if these will fit my car correctly? If not what sizes have others used?

Size of the tire will be fine. Smaller diameter means that your actual road speed will be lower than what is indicated on the speedometer. That small of a difference will work out to about 1MPH off at 65MPH.

As long as you stay with a 35mm-45mm offset, 5x100 bolt circle, 54.1mm centerbore, 7" max width wheel - you should be OK, clearance and fitment wise.

HPO = High Positive Offset, usually indicated that this would be an appropriate wheel for a FWD car. Most, but not all, 17" aftermarket wheels that are listed as HPO will be within the acceptable range for the 9th gen Corolla.

Best to contact the vendor for clarification on that offset, just to be on the safe side. Also make sure the wheel comes with hubcentric adapters, if the center bore is much larger than 54.1mm. If it is smaller than 54.1mm, then that will NOT fit your Corolla.

I am currently running 225/45/17. The wheels I am using are from a 2004 PT Cruiser and I had to get 3mm spacers to make the hubs fit properly. There is ample clearance and it sticks to the road like glue.
