Question Will 16" diam 6.5" wide 5x100 wheel fit 03 Corolla S?

Hello fellow forumers!

I recently bought a used 2003 Corolla S with 18" rims. The car is essentially for my wife and she doesn't like these extra-sporty rims. Also, they offer a rather stiff and a bit uncomfortable ride.

I am looking for a replacement wheels and tires. I found found one option on eBay http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Toyot...item256163d208

The seller advertises it as compatible with 2003-2007 Toyota Matrix. It's 16" diameter, 6.5" wide 5x100 and 39 offset.

In a thread under this forum I had found out that OEM offset is +42mm.

Will this wheel fit Corolla 2003 s? How significant is the offset difference? What sizes would you recommend me buy? Any brand preferences? I am not looking for performance wheels, and price is an important consideration.

Josh,

Thank you for your input.

Rims look really cool! But do you think there is problem with offset? The OEM offset is 42, while these come with 39. By the way, what tire sizes will fit that rim?

My current 18" rims are not new, although they are shiny and look good. I think they are chrome or something :-) sorry, I am not really into cars, and all the more so... wheels. They look fine and showy, but there are a couple of chips. I am not sure how to check the brand and model of these rims. The original owner told me they cost him $1500 with tires, but I don't know. I was thinking to post them on CL after I buy replacements.

The offset will be perfect for your corolla. Im running the same offset on my wheels, look at my pic below, and im lowered quite a bit. I have had no issues with rubbing at all. Like I said, they put those wheels with that offset on the corolla xrs and they were perfect. Good luck.
Ohh, and chrome, nvm, they should sell quick on cl though... there are lots of people with poor taste out there scouring cl for used bling... but post up a pic of them here and I'll try to give you the brand, style, offset, etc... i know my rims pretty well... who knows, you might have a gem or a turd, only one way to find out.
