OEM Cruise Control Addition on a '04 Corolla S (where is engine bay harness)

All,

I've read different things about cruise control on our cars. I found out that some just need a switch, and some need a few components. I just bought an 04 corolla s the other day and would love to put the OEM cruise system in the car. Can you all please help me out with some expert clarification on what I will need to do this.

So far what it seems to me is that I need:
Cruise control module
Some wire?
A bracket for the module
The cruise control switch

What else? Is this even possible without some major work?

Thanks in advance!
Shawn

Thanks for the reply, but I have seen both of these already. I have heard something like the 06 and up are fly by wire and the 04 is a different design? Can anyone confirm?

Yeah....actually it's the '05s and up have electronic throttle .....'04s and back have the traditional cable system (which I'd prefer for simplicity's sake, but...have an '05 here, and can't be bothered to retrofit - I have enough trouble keeping up with more important stuff in life...heh. Dunno how that affects cruise control, but, yeah, consider it confirmed

Thanks!

One thing I'm not seeing is an open wiring harness in the engine bay for this harness... anyone have any information on where I can look? Where it may be hiding? Help!

Shawn

Well all... I came to the conclusion that the harness under the hood was missing from my 04 corolla S for the cruise box... so... I went aftermarket. I got a rostra system from www.thecruisecontrolstore.com and its working pretty good. Install wasn't too bad... Just really hard to work in tight areas like the brake wires.

Thanks everyone,
Shawn
