automatic transmission fluid change

My Kid has a 07 corola she lives 90 miles away from where I live , when she took her car in for oil and filter change 58000 miles she was told to change the tranny fluid at 60000 . She is home this weekend and I looked at the maintenance schedule and can not find when it is to be serviced . Our family has other Toyotas and all are great cars and pretty much follow what the book says . I an a colector car owner so I do most of the maintainence on them. When we had 125000 on my other kids 2000 Camry a mechanic friend of mine dropped the pan and hooked a hose to the pick up and ran the car until the the fluid came out looking like new, thats the only way to replace the fluid . The fluid looks great and does not smell burnt. Thanks Alot

60,000 miles is correct for the change.

Check out the DIY.

You can drain it, and remove the pan to clean it. That gets about 3.6 quarts out of total 8 quart capacity... You can refill it, then disconnect the transmission cooler line, start engine and let it pump out. Stop the engine and keep refilling it every 1-2 quarts until it comes out clean, then reconnect the line. Just don't let the tranny run dry.

easy to do, safe for you car and you will save money and feel good about it. If you follow the DIY, you will do a better job than the average shop, i did it for the first time by myself, remember...safety is the rule # 1. I bought 8 liters, is better to have one extra litter just in case, i bought the filter at Napa. here is some info, hope it help.( sorry if i make mistakes i am learning to post)

saskrider, thanks for the great pictures. I've been trying to figure out how to properly check the level of ATF on my 2005 LE and searched all over the place. At least the last picture has given me two questions I had answered. How to properly check the level plus the "dry fill" amount of ATF needed.
Thanks again!
