Check engine light after AOJ recall work?

Currently having difficulty after an AOJ recall done on my 2006 Manual Corolla CE. Recall service was done at 64000 miles. Check engine light came on at about 65500 miles. Check engine light went off after the six restarts. Check engine line came back on again at 66000 miles and has stayed on.

Error code reads cat emission tube bank 1 failure.

Mechanic says both Oxygen sensors upstream and downstream of the cat are reading okay. The catalytic converter is simply not working right. Repairs estimated at $1300.

The proximity of this problem after having the AOJ recall work done is a little bothersome. Have there been similar problems with the AOJ recall?

AOJ recall is the ECM replacement for some of this generation Corollas and Matrices.

Just had the AOJ recall done to my 05 Corolla. Where is that computer? Doesn't look like they opened the hood? And shouldn't there be a sticker somewhere that say's it's done?

It is behind the glove box. No sticker, the recall is now under your VIN. Keep your order receipt incase in you want sell your car.
