Ipod Interface Help

Hi,
So I bough the Ipod interface when I bought the car in late 2007. Since then, I haven't been able to figure out how to be able to control the Ipod from the Ipod. For some reason, it only works from the the controls on the car, and I can change 5 disc tracks (or playlists). Disc 6 just plays "all music". My Ipod screen is stuck on a grey screen that says Ipod Interface and lists the track song and artist, but I can't get it off that screen. But someone told me that I should also be able to control the song selection from the IPOD itself. Can someone help me please?

What interface did you buy? How is it connected? What radio are you using?

If using the stock Corolla radio with the aux input/iPod interface connected to the CD Changer input on the back of the OEM radio, I think one has to hit the "Disc" button twice to switch over to the CD Changer input. As to control of the iPod that will depend on the type of interface your using between the ipod and the radio.

I am not tech savvy, and don't know what type of interface it is. It was the original one that came with the 2008 corolla. It was already connected... it goes through my glove box, and into the radio... The disc button rotates between my CD, IPOD, and radio. No idea what radio I am using either.

I tried hitting Disc twice... just rotates me between my options of CD, IPOD,and radio. I can control the IPOD through those buttons, but am not able to control my IPOD.
