Sounds to me like your stop lightvswitch is goingnout. Check that and let me know if your brake lights arevworking, if that switch is not working it won't let the reverse lockout unlock

I went out to check the breaks and the brake light are working. It does not do it all the time. It is at random. Do i need to check when it lock up again?

Yes check the lights when the problem is happening. The switch is likely intermittent.
