'04 Corolla- Ignition Coil Codes

Seems like there's loads of guys who know what they're talking about. My mom's '04 Corolla will not start. Just died pulling into a parking space. Cranks fine but will not start. Hand-held code reader puts up P0351,P0352, P0353, P0354....telling me that all four ignition coils went bad at the same time. Has anyone ever run into this. Any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

all four at once?! sounds like it might actually be a bad ECU.

I agree, possible ECU, but that is uncommon on the 03s and 04s. How many miles on the car?

The car has only120,000kms(70,000miles), never gave any trouble before. Just died suddenly. Cranks ok, has fuel pressure, coils seem ok, I've swapped them around...nothing changes. I just spent 4 hours chasing wires-everything looks ok.
Does this car have an ignition relay?

You still fall under the emissions warranty for the ECU, it is 8 years or 80K miles. Are you plugs ok and were they ever changed?

How's that ground bolt on the coils wire harness on the valve cover?

See Ignition chapter in the free service manual download.

Yeah, it is kinda looking like the ecu, isnt it? At this point, there's nowhere else I can go on my own. I've checked everything I could think of . I guess I'll have to send it to the dealer on a hook. Thanks for the input, guys.

I assumed you looked at the plugs and coils? No signs or damage or noticeable wear?

Problem solved. Firstly, thanks to all for the input. It was a bad ground on the left side of the cyl. head. Took some digging. The bad connection was between the stripped end of the white/black ground wire from the ignition oils to the ring terminal it was attached (crimped) to. The bolt went thru this ring to the head. I cut the old connection off, twisted the wires together, crimped on a new ring, and put the bolt back in. Problem solved.. Ironically, when
We were running it at then end, it just quit. The fuse for the fuel pump just blew...out of nowhere. SPare one in, now it's fine. Moral of the story...make sure you check for continuity at every possible connection!! I thought I'd be spending hundreds on a new ECU, ended up costing me nothing.

Right on, magart. You mean on top left of valve cover? That's the ground I was referring to.
