suspension fender rubbing?

i've got lowering springs/sport shocks with 215/55/17 rubber - when i go over a sudden dip in the road there's some kind of metal rubbing sound coming from front wheel well - any ideas?

fender rubbing lowered suspension

can the tire hit the lower spring seat on the strut if it goes on a sudden down/up dip in the road such as near a sewer?

That's your problem. The aspect ratio is too high for the wheel size, you should be running 215/45/17 for plus 2 sizing. Your tire diameter and circumference are too large.

9th gen Corolla sizing is as follows:
Stock spec = 195/65/15
+1 sizing = 205/55/16
+2 sizing = 215/45/17
+3 sizing = 225/35/18

Sounds like your tires are hitting the strut. That can be because the offset for the wheels you've chosen is too high and your wheels are too wide.
