My opinion is you are probably ok. change it again at 3k miles then go the usual 5k. Don't know how you forgot since there is a oil reminder light. I get my oil change stuff right when the light starts to flash at 4.5K. When I see that oil and filter lying around its a daily reminder to do it.
Whatever slight damage is done you can't undo however, I would avoid any prolonged high rpm stress til you get it changed.......You don't want to spin a rod bearing or something......In the future you could go to a good synthetic like Amsoil.....And then if you go over due to oversight or time constraints, etc. you are still All Good !

A BLAST FROM MY PAST, MAN, THE FUN WE HAD!
On your dash near the speedo there is a maint req light that comes on every 5000 miles to remind you to change the oil.
Yep. From what I remember the Maintenance Required indicator should remain lit after the 5,000 mile mark when the car is turned on. And that same indicator light should blink 7 or 8 times then go out when the car is turn on when you hit the 4,500 mile mark.
To reset the Maintenance Required indicator do the following. I've had my stealership fail to reset Maintenance Required light after doing an oil change. Note these reset steps should work for all 9th Gen Corollas.
Turn ignition key to 'ON' and press the odometer button until the display reads ODO... not Trip A or B.
Turn ignition key to OFF.
Hold in the same button you used in step 1.
While holding the button in, turn ignition key to 'ON'.
ODOMETER will change to
5 dashes - - - - -
Then 4 dashes - - - -
Then 3 dashes - - -
Then 2 dashes - -
Then 1 dash -
THEN all zeros 0 0 0 0 0
Then back to the correct mileage
The Maintenance Required light should blink and go out.
It flashes at start up after 4500 miles and then will reamin on constant after 5000. Check all your lights when you first turn your key on, it will light up then for a few seconds.
My car didn't seem to have that. I now use trip B as a reminder.
Thanks. Now I'm not crazy. Even a retarded person will notice a flashing light or any constant light. I have never seen one on my corolla s. I have passed 5k twice about 100 to 200 miles over. NO lights

I may have an answer for you. I think if you got an 04 corolla you might not have a warning light. My brother has an 03 and he has no oil maint light. So maybe you don't have one. I have a sneaking suspiction the lights were added due to toyota's famous oil sludge problems back in the early 2000's. I know the 05's have one.
The 2007's have the oil change reminder as well. Although it's kinda misleading as it's the regular "check eng" lite that stays on. There is NO specific "oil change" lite. As far as going over....don't sweat it. You are perfectly fine going over a few K. In Iraq we had a 1993 Nissan 1/4 ton pick-up that had 148,000 on arrival and 174,000 on return on the odometer. As it wasen't a military vehicle, motorpool didn't service it. I doubt any fluids were ever changed on it. Ran fine, I almost bought a Nissan when I got home based solely on the performance of that little truck.
