For the most part of my driving career I have always purchased regular wiper blades and like most people found after 6+- months they tended to start to streak or not work as well. Fast forward to Oct 2009. I purchased a set of Bosch Wiper Blades at Advanced auto parts. # (424a) and (418a). I have never had such a great set of wiper blades and after the hottest summer on record and almost 2+ years of service they still clean the windshield great. I found a deal on Amazon.com for the same blades and they cost $18.00 less a set then the ones I bought 2 years ago so I went ahead and bought a new set and will install them when the old ones start to show some signs of streaking. There may be other great blades out there but this is just a personal observation and info to anyone wondering about wiper blade quality.

I was just about to make a post on experiences w/ bracketless wipers. I have Rain-x Latitude wipers and they were awesome during the first week but half a month later they are leaving terrible streaks on the downstroke, particularly on the driver's side.
I bought Bosch and the set lasted about 30 days before they started streaking. Kind of expensive so I'll be going back to Alco brand.
Bosch makes a large variety of blades for our cars from the cheap $5.00 sets to $40.00 a piece, you never mentioned what (quality) part number blades you bought?

Costco in MD have buy one get one free on Goodyear wipe.
Each one is $8.
It's pretty much like Bosch and Rain-X.
Same deal is going on here in Tucson AZ. $7.99 for 1 Goodyear and it's a BOGO! Best price I've ever seen. Needless to say there is a new set on my Rolla as I type.

I believe they were the "Marathon Wiper Blade" $15 each
Wow, I'm abit surprised you guys have trouble with the Icon's. There is a hand full of us at work that run the Icon's and until now I haven't heard one bad thing about them. I guess you buy what works, and for some people and their cars, one item may work and it may not.

I noticed the life of the wipers is very dependent on the environment. When I was in the desert, the wipers might only last for 6 months at a time. There is less than 6" rain per year, but I was pretty much buying new wipers every time it rained. I think I was using Bosch Microedge or Excel in addition to Toyota wiper inserts.
Now that I'm in a more temperate and humid area, Toyota inserts can go 2 years and still work just fine.
The Goodyear wipers from Costco have lasted about 18 months on mum's car. I put another set on since they were BOGO. The Costco BOGO offer is good until Oct 15 I think.

Interesting...
I went to Bosch's website and they don't list Marathon wipers. The Marathon looks exactly like the ICON's except Marathons are sold at Walmart. Both Marathon and ICON are made in China
Kind of makes me wonder...
The absolute best wiper blades for the 9th Gen Corollas have the be the OEM Gen 10 wiper blades. They lasted me two years and almost 40000 miles and when they started to streak I only had to replace the 8 dollar inserts and I was good as new again. They fit on our windshield and actually take up more space so they clean more of the windshield.
