Gaining HP from a Se 2008?

Other than the air intake near the right fog light section what is there that can gain some HP and work?

I currently have the corolla se 20th anniversary 2008 automatic

Quite sure chips a gimmick

I know corolla are not performance car but I do want to make it better

I already have good tire from my older nissan(losing 3km/h as it is slightly smaller)

15% underdrive aluminum crankshaft pulley: DONT BUY EBAY, NST IS FAIRLY INEXPENSIVE, AND IS BUILT WELL

Use shorter Goodyear Gatorback # 4060730 (73") or 4060735 (73.5") with smaller underdrive pulley. VERY TRUE

Mimo USA stainless steel header (same for 2003-2008):
CRAP. WILL NOT FIT RIGHT. DONT BUY MIMO OR OBX. ONLY 2 THAT FIT PROPERLY ARE DC SPORTS AND PPE HEADER

Magnaflow exhaust cat-back ($391.51 with coupon. Free shipping to Canada+USA): HAVE CUSTOM EXHAUST DONE AT MUFFLER SHOP. WILL BE CHEAPER, USE 2.25 UNLESS YOU ARE GOING TURBO OR SUPERCHARGED.

Power Enterprise Camcon cam timing and air/fuel ratio controller:
ALTHOUGH CAMCON IS CHEAPEST, YOU WILL GET MUCH BETTER RESULTS WITH THE GREDDY EMANAGE OR AN APEXI PFC

PLX Devices Wideband O2 sensor and monitor:
DECENT BRAND, AND NECESSARY FOR SAFE TUNING
Ok, I fixed the info a little bit for you. With an auto and the 1zz-fe, dont expect too much out of those mods. With those mods you're looking at 150hp tops. The only way to get power out of the 1zz is a turbo or a supercharger. You can however balance it out with suspension modifications which will make your car handle well, and fun to drive. I personally have an Injen intake, greddy evoII exhaust, ported stock manifold, tein ss coilovers, trd sway bar, and hawk brake pads. While my car isnt by any means fast, It is very fun to drive. I have done a couple autox's and actually placed higher than cars with more power than mine. You just have to decide what your budget is and try to create a car that will make you smile.

I haven't seen a Turbo or supercharger for my car model so far and from kits I seen it currently out of my budget.

I have been told about the suspension and I may look into that one

My budget is currently set at about 2k top

They only made the TRD supercharger for the 03-04 years. It will run you about $1800 used with everything you need EXCEPT 05-08 needs a TB adapter plate for it to work. Good luck finding that. A turbo kit is more work but its out there. GL with the modding. IMHO Id go for the complete set of suspension tweaks (coilovers, sway bars, yada yada..) before thinking about forced induction.

Yeah, too bad it's not manual... A few of us were lucky enough to get the $350 JP Performance Exhaust header for $265, and their $550 2-1/2" stainless steel midpipe with 1 catalytic converter and 2 resonators for $440 ($340 with $100 credit for header surface rust-ceramic coated T409 stainless steel instead of T304 ss) on a group buy a few years ago. The Mimo USA header is a quality high grade stainless steel unit for the price, but is in fact a bit shorter and thus good for a custom made exhaust mid-pipe and muffler section (axle back). PPE header reviews are mixed, and DC Sports ceramic coated mild steel header tends to rust and crack over time... Dropping your suspension is asking for clearance and reliability problems with inner tie-rod ends, etc, and ground clearance in Canadian winters.
I currently have an Injen cold air intake, smooth-bored and coolant bypassed throttle body with thinned shaft, ported intake manifold, smooth matched intake port inlets and exhaust port outlets, ASP 15% underdrive aluminum crankshaft pulley, JP header and midpipe, custom axle back with 18" 5X8 Magnaflow muffler, Powe Enterprise Camcon cam timing + A/F controller, PLX Devices wideband O2 monitor, ground upgrades, Energy Suspension urethane motor mount inserts and control arm bushings, Progress rear stabilizer bar, Ultra Racing rear strut bar/brace, front strut bar...

Or ... you could take your $2k, drive the Corolla as cheaply as possible, keep saving some money up, and buy a real sports car. Then when the real sports car has issues, you have a reliable cheap everyday beater to drive while the real sports car is out of service.

It can be done. I'm a testament. This is my exact situation. The car I bought: 1993 Mazda RX-7, that's where my money goes. The Corolla can't do what the RX-7 can do. However, the RX-7 gets crushed by the Corolla for what the Corolla does well (mpg, comfort, reliability). The combo of these 2 cars at the same time, just can't be beat.

I just had a boost leak in my RX-7. Because I have my Corolla, I had the car down for like 6 weeks trying to find and purchase the best remedy to my problem. Spent $60 total fixing the boost leak with hard pipes, where other's might have spent hundreds trying to get it fixed quickly. That's another way my Corolla saves me money.

Oh ... and my Corolla is a 5 speed also! Good luck guys, catch this chick if you can!

I think I'll get a picture of my Corolla and RX-7 sitting side-by-side...
