Brake Fluid Flush

How many ways can this go wrong/be done right? My local mechanic, who I have mostly used for oil changes is quoting me 39.99 and a toyota dealership is quoting me at 119.99. Just curious if I can take the chance and spend less money.

$39.99 at your local mechanic is fine... I do it myself, free of charge.

+1 It's very easy & doesn't take long at all.

You can get a $10 tool from Autozone, Kragen, whatever to prevent air from going back into the line. A jar with a short piece of PVC hose works too.

Fairly easy to do, maybe 1-1.5 hour or so including cleanup.

Should you choose to do it yourself, Castrol LMA and Valvoline synthetic are some of the better brake fluids commonly available. Make sure you don't get DOT5.

For that price, I'd let him do it. Too much of a pain in my butt to do it for $40. Now if I had to pay $120 then that might be enough for me to get dirty
