New front light - need adjustment?

i changed one of my headlights today. i can adjust the hight of the light from inside the car. there is a sort of "motor" on the headlight that adjusts it. i wonder if it needs adjustment after changing?

is the right front light supposed to have a higher beam than the left on a left hand side drive car?

2005 corolla 1,4 d4d

You have a motor that adjusts the headlight from inside of the car? Never seen that on my 04 Corolla, mine just has a manual star adjuster on the back of each light that adjusts them up and down! It's just my preference but I like to keep my drivers side beam a little lower then my passenger, lots of people like to keep them even!

Both lights are supposed to be level. And he is in Norway where they have the head light adjusters.

If you have a motorized headlight adjusting feature on your car why adjust them manually? Just check your owners manual on how to do it, it can't be that complicated!

No, you need to manually adjust the one head light so that it matches the other. Just using the motor to adjust it will adjust both at the same time and not fix the problem.

So it adjusts them both simultaneously, sounds like a wasted feature, being in Norway Toyota could have spent the money on a something like heated WW fluid, I hope it came standard on the car...Me I'll just stick with using my high/low beams and manual adjust when needed!

You need to adjust the one head light by the screws so that it matches the other, and then you can use the motors to raise/lower both together. It is very easy to adjust the head lights with the screws.

It's typical with most european market cars and from what I heard some of them, like volkswagens for example, auto level lights if u set the automatic adjustment to maximum or minimum level and then to wanted level but it is important to put the bulbs the right way too. To be 100% sure if it is good go to the diagnose station so they measure and correct lights.
