05 Manual Check Engine

Hi,

My 05 manual corolla, I call it 'the bic' check engine light finally came on after 75K miles. I've got a code reader on the way.
I drive the thing pretty hard, more like a 911 really. Best damn car I've ever owned. :-)

Hi,

I'm more careful with the check engine light on and I haven't been going past 3K rpm. It is not missing or anything unusual. Occasionally it seems to be taking an extra second to start, but I'm not sure. I'm not driving it much and it does a lot of sitting.

Thanks,
Thomas

get the code read at an autoparts store, they'll do it for free.

check engine lightl

ha ha. i gota 07 corolla ce manuel and my check engine light came on about 65000 miles. I dont know if it was because my gas was low but it went away after i filled up the gas tank.. but also like you said it has a delayed start. I thought i was imagining it as well. Thats good someone else is having that problem to.

Hi,

I had the ECM replaced under the TSB and replaced the battery. The Corolla is running well. Naturally the codes were cleared.
P0440 and P0445 returned after a few days. Tightening the gas cap and clearing the codes with ScanguageII seemed to have fixed it for the last 2 weeks.

Hi,

The check engine lights codes p0441 and p0445 for the evap system are coming on regularly now on cold mornings. If I clear the code, it lights next time I start the engine on a cold morning of about 40F.
Can anyone tell me what this could be?

Thanks,
Thomas

First thing to do is buy a new gas cap. Cost $5-$10
