Yes, springs, shocks, anti-roll bars are all different. There is a chassis X-brace behind the rear seat to stiffen the rear quarter of the chassis. There is a Yamaha developed shock tower brace between the front two strut towers. The rear seat is also a fixed bench rather than a 60/40 split seat to reduce chassis flex.
Put all of this together and XRS is a lot more rigid, stable and responsive especially in high speed turns etc. The chassis rigidity makes a bigger difference than the suspension.
Also, the steering rack and pinion are different to provide a much quicker, direct steering turn-in. Also, the steering gives much more feedback than the numb 1ZZ steering.
