Ac problem corolla 03.

hello to everyone!

my case is as follows recently i had to the change the belt tensioner and after the shop changed my AC wasnt working as normal.
With the following symptoms

1-the compressor goes go on and off ( at a low fan speed and goes off a bit less if its in a higher speed)
2-its not cooling as good sometimes does not cool at all.
3- sometimes the rpm change , i am guessing that its because of the compressor kicking on and off.

i have done the following
the refrigerant seemed missing some yesterday... and added some but still the compressor behaves the same.
i took to the car to the shop where i changed the belt tensioner....
and they said that i had to change the expansion valve thats causing this problem

but i have the feeling that they unwillingly made a leak to the system?

what causes a compressor to behave like that?

What are your high and low pressures? Does the green AC light come on and stay on steady when you press the AC button? Do you have any debris or damage to the condenser? How did you add the refrigerant? Cabin air filter restricted?

Before you spend 5 hrs trying to replace the expansion valve unnecessarily, check the MG/CLT relay (AKA the AC relay) which is labeled under the fuse box lid, under the hood in the fuse panel above the battery, swap it with the horn relay and see if that fixes your issue.

Odds are pretty good it is a bad MG/CLT relay if all your pressures are ok. Every time someone says it is the expansion valve that is bad on a 9th gen corolla it is usually the MG/CLT relay that goes bad.

AC Lights always on.
the condenser should be good.
theres a new cabin air filter.
i swapped the relay and the same..
and i took to flush and refill the refrigerant i am getting 40F
but still when i am acelerating or sometimes stopping that triggers the compressor somehow
could it be the compressor clutch?
when the problem started i got to see it stop one time .

this is driving me nuts!
