How to check if my corolla 2005 ce has engine immobilizer or not?

Is then end of your key rubber or plastic? Do you have a red security light on the left side of your steering wheel that blinks when the key is out of the ignition? If you have that light, then you have the immobilizer. I know it started on the 05 and up, but not sure if it is on the CE models.

Yes, i do have that light which blinks (Red) when I take out the key.

Could you please tell me how it works?

ALL 2005 Corolla's have engine immobilizers.....at least in Canada. Simply means your key has a microchip imbedded in the plastic that the car recognizes. If you get another key cut at Canadian tire and use it it'll open the door but won't start the car. It simply prevents the ingnition from working if the microchip is not detected.
