i installed a codl air intake powerflow to my corolla 2003 vvti 16 valve 1.8 automatic, after 1 hour running the check engine light turn on, i disconnected de battery and it went off but after driving a couple of hour it turn on again, i also have a DC header 4-1
Did you mess up the intake sensors? They have to be positioned correctly. Or, the increased airflow causes the sensor to have out-of-range readings, and put a CEL. You'll have to live with the CEL in this case. On my IS300, the intake required a ECU mod chip to fix this problem.
I never found these things to be worth it.. just put the stock box back on and be done with it.
Of course the light could be completely coincidental as well. Stranger things have happened. If you want to get it scanned and let us know what the codes are we can take things from there.

You are going to have to take the car to get scanned somewhere. It could be a check engine light for a transmission solenoid, a lean condition, or an ECU error. There is no way of diagnosing it without a code.
How many Kms on it, and have your replaced your intake manifold gasket for Toyota's new revised one? Cleaning your Mass Air Flow/Intake Air Temperature sensor (screwed onto your intake aluminum tube) can also help.
A good mechanic should have a 'CAN' code reader to read your trouble code (CEL), or you can order one:

Well that solution failed. My cel came back on this morning, the solution would have never worked lol. Sorry. Hopefully we can both find a solution to this annoying problem!

You should consider starting your own thread for your problem and not hijacking the original poster's thread. It becomes very confusing for a lot of people.
