2006 Corolla Brake Issue, please help!

Hi guys, I'm hoping that one of you might be able to help me out with a brake issue that I am having on my 2006 corolla CE.

My front driver's side brake makes a grinding noise when coming to a slow stop. The brake pads are new dealer pads ( replaced on both sides) that I installed. I have replaced the rotors, brake pads ( OEM & not OEM ) and even the caliper on this side and this still happens. The pads seem to wear even and the noise shows up after a few hundred miles of driving on new pads. My local mechanic says its the material in the pads though the funny thing is that the same pads and rotors are used on the passenger side yet it does not make the grinding noise. Hope you can give me some guidance.

Were your brakes properly bedded in when they were most recently installed? Also, if it's only on one side and the brakes are identical, it could be a bearing.

2006 Corolla Brake Issues

Thanks for your response. Yes the pads were properly seated. I've replaced the pads 3 times now and with different brands and the driver's side front brake always makes the noise.

As far as a wheel bearing goes, is it typical to only make the noise if the brake is applied? Once I release the brake it goes away. Wouldn't it also be present at slow speeds when the brake is not applied?

How can I verify that it is a wheel bearing?
