2008 Corolla CE replacement key fobs and owner manual

My girlfriend just bought a 2008 Corolla CE from Carmax a week ago and it did not include the key fobs and owner manual. I found via Google that if the car has cruise control (it does) then it also has keyless entry. Today, I called a couple local dealerships and both want about $150 per key fob plus an additional fee for programming. An owner's manual is also about $25. More Google searching found some key fobs that came in between $20 and $40 each and I also found programming instructions. But before I buy, is there a particular brand that tends to work better, or a better site in which to buy the fobs? Or should I just base my purchase on ratings? Also, where is a good place to buy an owner's manual? I am thinking eBay would probably be the best bet...

Thanks for your input!

If you send me your VIN I can get you a price on an OEM one. I sell Genuine Toyota Parts to TN members for 30% off MSRP. That is if you want a factory one. It would still need programing.

I cannot extend this discount to Owners Manuals though, sorry.

We get a lot of people who buy aftermarket ones then bring them to the dealership to get programmed, only to figure out that they wont work.

If you are thinking about getting them from TOYOPARTSMAN, he has really good service and the 30% off is awesome if you are going OEM.

As far as the owners manual, ebay has way too many of them for sale, I believe it is $25 at the dealer for new, just to give you a gauge for pricing.

Thanks for the tips! I had a hard time getting the test from Keyless Ride to work last night so I'm going to try it a few more times to make sure the car has keyless entry before I place any orders. Is there anything else I should check on the car? Fuses, etc?

The link as passed on to you was bookmarked as future reference from a personal friend. If you are having difficulties regarding the verification procedure call 877-619-3136. Tech help at that # should be able to assist you further.
As mentioned by OP, OEM with TN SPONSER: TOYOPARTSMAN. He is quick to respond & his discount may be the way to go in your case.
