hid's questions

i just bought hid's for my 03 corolla.i know the DRL is only 7 volts(causes hid to flicker) and hid's need 12 volts.so i don't know how to disable my DRL.i could make my own harness and put toggle switch.so what is the best way to put hid's on this car.

Most people just disable their DRLs. If you look under the steering column and you'll see a black box with a wiring harness connected to it. Locate pin 12 (small red and white wire immediately next to the 2 larger wires). Cut that wire. Some people put a switch in between to "turn back on" the DRL functionality but i personally dont care for it. You will lose your "auto lights on" function too FYI.

Yeah if you're simply replacing the halogen bulbs with HID bulbs then you're just asking for trouble. The right thing to do would be to install HID projectors as well. I think I saw someone here that modified their halogen projectors to work properly with HIDs.
